BLANKET STITCH: Most often used on decorative borders. Work from left to  right.

  1. Bring thread up through fabric about 3/8 inch from bottom edge.

  2. Hold thread down and to the left with your thumb.

  3. About 3/8 inch to the right of your last stitch, push needle through fabric. You want to be about 3/8 inch from bottom edge like your first stitch.

  4. Bring needle down and over thread (you are holding with your thumb) and pull thread through. Neatly pull thread taught, but not too tight.

  5. Continue until complete.
