CLOSED BLANKET STITCH: This stitch is worked the same way as the Blanket Stitch except that the stitches will be sewn at a slant towards each other.

  1. Bring thread up through fabric at a slant to the right, and about 3/8 inch from bottom edge.

  2. Hold thread down and to the left with your thumb.

  3. Insert needle at a slant to the left to meet your first stitch.

  4. Bring needle down and over thread (you are holding with your thumb) and pull thread through. Neatly pull thread taught, but not too tight.

  5. Continue until complete.
