Did you ever use the shirt that you happened to be wearing to gather your chicken's eggs? I have. I've also used pockets in my pants or jackets, with disastrous circumstances.

Also available as a printed pattern.

I designed this little apron with pouches to gather eggs, and now I don't squish or drop them. The twelve pouches accommodate small to large size eggs. The eggs nestle easily down into the pouches, safe and sound. And as a bonus, there is a pocket that encompasses the full size of the apron. As you gather your eggs, stop by the garden and harvest a few vegetables.

One Size fits most:

  • 18 1/2" wide at the waist band.
  • 30" wide at the hem.
  • Each tie measures 32" long.
  • 17 1/2" from waist to hem.
  • Each pouch measures 2 5/8" x 3 1/2"

Fabric suggestions:
Medium weight cotton, linen, broadcloth or other such fabrics.
The lining of the apron (inside the pocket) is muslin, or use any light weight non-stretch fabric.

Egg Gathering Apron With Large Pocket

  • This is not a paper pattern that is shipped in the mail. There will be no shipping cost to you. It will be available to you as a downloadable PDF file after payment has been received and cleared. As soon as an online payment (e.g. credit card or PayPal payment) is received, a confirmation email is sent to you with a download link. The link also appears on your Thank You page.

  • When printing from a download, be sure to print the pattern pages at 100%, not "Fit to page" on your printer. You may test the accuracy of your printout by printing the page that has the test square. It should measure 2" x 2".

Not all pattern pieces will fit on a standard 8 1/2" x 11" piece of paper, therefore you may need to piece together some pattern pieces.
